Hello, my name is Dahlia Hanson. I’ve had the unique experience of blending my passions for culinary arts and community advocacy here in Portland, Oregon.

My journey began as a chef, fueled by a deep love for creating delectable vegan dishes at my food cart, Speed-o Cappuccino (@speedocappuccino). It was here that I first felt the inspiration to incorporate more fresh, vibrant ingredients into my creations, leading me to start growing my own micro produce. My culinary adventure took a deeper, more personal turn when I fell in love with the process of bringing color and fresh, locally grown produce into my kitchen. This love extended beyond the food cart as I began growing full time with a customer I met at the strip club where I worked, who is now my partner in business.

Together, we founded Flower Slut (@flowersbyflowerslut), a business dedicated to growing and supplying 100% Latinx-owned and grown edible flowers. Our blooms are now found gracing the plates and cocktails of bars and kitchens across Portland, adding a burst of color and a touch of local flavor to every dish. Our venture is a testament to the power of community, resilience, and the joy of working with nature. At Flower Slut, we are committed to quality and sustainability, ensuring that each flower is as vibrant and flavorful as the next.

Our work is guided by my favorite mantra, "Do something today that your future self will thank you for." This philosophy drives us to cultivate not just flowers, but a future filled with beauty, community, and culinary excellence.
